    Support and troubleshooting

Practical help for using TalkToTextly: which files work, what your browser needs, why mobile can be slower, how exports work, and how your audio is processed.

    Quick help topics

    Supported files

Upload supported audio files up to 150 MiB. Long recordings are processed in chunks without shortening the result.

    Browser requirements

Use a current browser with JavaScript and an internet connection. Keep the tab open until the result arrives.

    Online transcription

Your audio is securely uploaded for transcription. Temporary copies are deleted after processing. An internet connection is required.

    Mobile limits

The same 150 MiB file size limit apply on mobile and desktop. Keep the screen awake and the connection stable during upload and processing.

    Exports

Copy or download TXT, SRT, VTT, or DOCX results in your browser. Review names, numbers and timestamps before sharing.

    Privacy basics

Temporary server audio and transcript files are deleted after completion or error. Transcript history is stored in this browser and can be deleted there. Ads and analytics do not receive audio or transcript text.

    Troubleshooting

The server is busy or unavailable

Keep your file and try again later. The service may be busy or temporarily unavailable.

    The file will not load

Check that the file is valid and within 150 MiB. Try exporting a supported MP3, WAV or M4A file.

    Transcription is slow

Long recordings can take several minutes. Keep the tab open and your connection active. The screen does not show a guaranteed completion time.

    The tab closed or reloaded

Select the original file and start again. Closing the tab can lose the response; it may not immediately stop the server's current job.

How the free trust model works

TalkToTextly is free to use, does not require an account, and does not ask for a credit card. The site is supported by advertising and optional analytics consent.

Your audio is securely uploaded for transcription. Temporary copies are deleted after processing. An internet connection is required.
